There is no grace period for late teams. If a team is not at their designated field and ready to play exactly when they are scheduled, they will forfeit the match 1-0.

How are tournament brackets formed?

3v3 Champions takes registration based upon both birth year and skill level.  Tournament directors then use this and any other information available (including a team’s previous results) to form the most competitive brackets possible at each tournament.

Do we need a coach?

Kinda. Yes, each team needs a ‘Coach.” However, a coach may be a parent, volunteer, or professional coach. However, the coach can do as much, or as little ‘coaching’ as they would like. We simply need someone who can organize the team and be our point of contact. All coaches must be at least 18 years old.

What is the semi-circle “goal box"?

The “goal Box” is a half circle in this league. It is a 4’ radius half circle that is directly in front of the goal. No players may touch the ball inside this area. This is designed so players will not try to camp out right in front of the goal, like a goalie would. See image below. (on mobile phones, scroll all the way to the bottom of this page)

Can a player pass through the goal box?

Yes, players may pass through the goal box as long as they do not touch the ball while in this area.

What happens when a defender touches the ball in the goal box?

Are there offsides?

No. There are no offsides.

Is heading allowed?

Heading is allowed only for brackets that consist solely of u13 and above (2011 and up). Brackets that are 2011/2012 combined can not head the ball. A header will be a direct kick at the location of the infraction.

What happens if the ball completely stops in the goal box?

A goal kick is awarded to the defensive team regardless of which team touched it last.

The deadline (for guaranteed acceptance) is shown on the web site. After that date, teams can still apply, however your team will only be added if there is room in your division.
