3v3 Champion’s partner Chris Koppi has been voted onto the Board of Skid Row Running Club.
The Skid Row Running Club is proud to announce that Chris Koppi has joined their Board of Directors. Koppi’s passion for community involvement and helping others fits perfectly with the mission of Skid Row Running Club, which uses running to promote health, mentorship, and hope among those who are at risk of homelessness and addiction.
Formed in 2012 by Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Craig Mitchell, the Skid Row Running Club was a unique attempt at reaching across barriers and forging cohesion among people from all different walks of life. Lawyers, recovering addicts, police officers, and the unhoused run side by side, forming bonds that go beyond what general society would expect. Participants learn to acquire self-discipline, overcome adversity, and gather the confidence to undertake life challenges. Regular running practices and participation in races instill in the club's members grit and perseverance.
Koppi has been a part of the Skid Row Running Club for several years and enjoys the camaraderie the club brings. He is proud to be part of a group that can firsthand improve the lives of so many people. Koppi will bring into the club leadership and compassion to support individuals in realizing their full potential. This appointment shows the commitment of the organization to its community and to increase its impact on the Skid Row community and beyond.
In addition to the Skid Row Running Club, Koppi enjoys running anywhere and everywhere he can. He has participated in many events throughout the country and even worldwide. He and his family own a local paving company which he started over seven years ago. They also enjoy hiking, exploring, and the outdoors in general. Like most lifelong Southern Californians, he loves the beach, ocean, boating and fishing. Above all, they truly care about the local community and those that are down on their luck.
